Toronto, Canada - August 1, 2006 - Storage Appliance Corporation (www.storage-corp.com), leading innovators in the consumer backup technology industry, today announced the appointment of Gary Connell to Vice President, Business Development.
Gary has spent 25 years in business-to-consumer markets, with over 9 years in retail marketing and 16 years in the consumer and wireless technology sectors. Gary has forged numerous industry partnerships and alliances, and has extensive experience in the development of new products and markets.
Prior to joining Storage Appliance, Gary served as Vice President, Commercial Division with Sharp Electronics where he launched Sharp into the Digital Signage market. As well, Gary introduced Sharp’s award-winning Plasmacluster Air Purification technology into Canada. In addition, while at Sharp, Gary managed the Consumer Division where he launched the industry leading Aquos line of LCD TV.
Gary also served as the General Manager of Sony Ericsson Canada, joining the Sony and Ericsson joint venture company after having served as Vice President, Consumer Division with Ericsson Canada.
Earlier, Gary was Vice President, Communication Group with Sanyo Electric. While at Sanyo, Gary spearheaded a Joint Marketing Agreement with Nortel Networks whereby Sanyo would manufacture and market Nortel-branded retail products.
Gary is a past Chairman, Communication Research Group with the Electronic Manufacturing Association of Canada.
