Toronto, ON – January 4, 2007 – BorderWare Technologies, a global vendor of messaging security, privacy and compliance solutions, today announced that the company has achieved its highest quarterly revenue to date with 400 percent growth in enterprise customers. Also contributing to this growth is the expansion of the company’s global customer footprint with increased wins in traditional small to mid-sized enterprise (SME) and government markets, an increased competitive win-rate and a customer renewal rate of 98 percent. International operations continued to increase its revenue by contributing 55 percent to the company’s overall sales and strong results were recorded in North America with a year-over-year quarterly growth rate of 90 percent.
"Needless to say, 2006 was a banner year for BorderWare and the fourth quarter was an exceptionally outstanding quarter for the company," said Tim Leisman, CEO of BorderWare. "In many ways, we accomplished more in this quarter than any prior quarter in the company's history, and those achievements are setting an exciting new course for the company through ongoing innovations. We exceeded our revenue and earnings goals along with record billings. Overall, I believe our team executed exceptionally well and we’ve kicked off 2007 with even greater momentum.”
Foundation for Continued Growth
Fourth quarter results demonstrated the company’s continued leadership and execution with key technology innovations that are critical to customers. These innovations provide BorderWare with significant differentiation from its competitors in the enterprise market, such as IronPort and Secure Computing.
• Image Spam Capture Services
BorderWare’s innovative spam capture technology, developed and improved over six years, provides enterprises with industry leading capture rates for all types of spam. In addition, BorderWare’s new patent-pending technology for image spam provides customers with solutions for emerging threats proving BorderWare’s agility in responding to customer needs.
• Global, Real-Time Reputation Services
BorderWare Security Network (BSN), a multi-protocol IP behavioral reputation service, provides enterprises with next generation, global threat intelligence to proactively identify new and emerging threats as they arise in real-time. BSN solves the problems that traditional reputation systems don’t address, such as IronPort’s SenderBase, by delivering real-time results based upon content and behavior analysis, not simply IP addresses or email volume. As reported by customers, BSN has proven to detect and block over 90 percent of all inbound threats at the connection level based on IP behavior.
• Enterprise Scalability and Reliability
The increase in traditional spam volume coupled with image spam is overloading email security solutions causing email outages at the perimeter and an increased load on internal email systems. BorderWare’s patent-pending clustering technology and message-level redundancy solves the problem by providing customers with the scalability and reliability expected in an enterprise environment to ensure business continuity. On-demand clustering and message-level redundancy provides the ability to scale solutions to any size in seconds guaranteeing zero messages lost. BorderWare’s clustering capabilities combined with connection level rejection of spam based on BSN reputation-based behavior analysis allows customers to achieve higher levels of message handling, email system availability, and lower operating costs.
• Information Data Leakage Protection and Email Encryption Services
BorderWare’s comprehensive enterprise content policy engine combined with encryption capabilities provides customers protection against legal risk, intellectual property leakage, and adherence to government and industry compliance regulations.
Throughout 2006, BorderWare worked closely with channel partners and continued to dominate with large enterprises in all vertical industries and large government accounts in both domestic and international markets. Additionally, BorderWare continued to innovate its solutions with an aggressive technology roadmap, which focuses on bringing new technology to market. Recent innovations include Borderware Infinity Platform and SIPassure. BorderWare’s Infinity Platform is the first and only integrated content security platform designed to provide a single policy to protect both inbound and outbound traffic across email, instant messaging, web and VoIP. SIPassure is the first VoIP Security Gateway to securely enable and protect SIP-based IP convergence, sets a new standard for price performance for the enterprise and carrier markets.
“BorderWare’s strong earnings, product portfolio and its track record of innovation suggest good things for the future,” said Ian Locke, Managing General Partner of Jefferson Partners, a technology venture capital firm. “Building on that legacy, the company continues to earn our confidence and we’re excited about the promise that BorderWare holds.”
