Attensity Presenting Software Innovations at Text Analytics Summit

Text Analytics Pioneer to Speak at Conference, Demonstrate Latest Software Applications with Partner Teradata

PALO ALTO, Calif. - June 19, 2006 - Attensity™, the innovator in Text Analytics software solutions, today revealed details of its participation in one of the industry's preeminent events: Boston's second annual Text Analytics Summit June 22-23, 2006. Attensity will exhibit products with partner and reseller NCR's Teradata Division, the global technology leader in enterprise data warehousing, analytic applications and data warehousing services. Additionally, Attensity's two founders, Dr. David Bean and Todd Wakefield, will share their Text Analytics insights in two conference sessions.

"We're very excited to be involved again in the Text Analytics Summit, as the conference's popularity demonstrates the growing importance of the industry," said Dr. Bean, Attensity's chief technology officer and vice president of engineering. "It's a great opportunity for us to share the lessons we're learning and the successes our innovative software is bringing to end users - both commercial and government. We're seeing great appetite for this technology as more and more businesses understand the necessity of gaining a truly holistic view of all their stored data - through text analytics."

Dr. Bean will be speaking on the topic of "Text Analytics: Is the Elephant Still in the Corner?" on Friday, June 23. His presentation will highlight Attensity's patented Exhaustive Extraction™ approach to text analytics, which pulls out all facts and causalities from a corpus of unstructured text without requiring Knowledge Engineers to laboriously create extraction pre-definitions - allowing that data to be used in concert with relational data in existing data warehouses to create actionable information enterprises and government agencies can leverage for better decision-making. During last year's Summit, Attensity proposed Exhaustive Extraction as the answer to the inefficiencies of Knowledge Engineering. This year, Dr. Bean will reflect on that proposal by sharing the results and lessons learned from Attensity's real-world implementations, and offer a view into the future.

Todd Wakefield, Attensity's co-founder and chief strategy officer, will also speak at the Summit on Thursday, June 22. Together with other leading minds from the business intelligence industry, Mr. Wakefield will discuss the very latest issues driving the need for text-focused products.

Attensity will also be exhibiting at the conference with its strategic partner, Teradata, a division of NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR), to demonstrate how they collaboratively deliver technology that addresses the increasing demand for a Text Analytics solution across a variety of industries. By combining Teradata's data warehouse technology with Attensity's applications powered by Exhaustive Extraction, they have created a world-class system that leverages all available data to deliver comprehensive analytics for manufacturers, financial service providers, retailers, government agencies and more.

In its second year, the Text Analytics Summit is the only event that focuses solely on the business of creating value from text. This exclusive forum features the major players in the unstructured data market. Adopters of this technology leverage it for a range of industry solutions for intelligence applications, content management, customer analysis, compliance, predictive analytics, anti-money laundering and fraud, search, knowledge discovery, patent research, warranty and claims processing, human resources, marketing and public relations, product development and others.
